“I just love making people happy!”
Lauren Scully, Event Director
Lauren was born and raised in the beautiful town of Charlottesville, Virginia. She has recently graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Events Management. Lauren knew she had a passion for weddings prior to working for Barb Wired working a couple of DIY weddings for some friends, but was ecstatic to hear about the Barb Wired internship program in February of 2012. Starting as an intern, she quickly worked her way up to assistant and now directs. She recently discovered her passion for decorating and has joined the Barb Wired décor team to execute some very special creations. In 2015 and 2016, she helped coordinate events for The Bill Howard’s Alzheimer Association 17th Annual Golf Tournament and Derby Party. Although Lauren has great attributes such as great communication skills, organizational skills and an eye for decorating, she continually pushes herself to learn about the people she is working with, and making that big day special for everyone. She considers the Barb Wired team her family and is honored to be able to be a part of the wedding and events team.
“I cannot describe how fortunate I am to work in such a beautiful place with some of the best people I have ever met. Being able to plan such a special day for our wonderful couples is a gift in itself. I am so excited to see what the future of Barb Wired has to offer!”
Iris Hosey Luck, Event Director

Currently, Iris is part of the Constituent Relations team at the University of Virginia’s Medical Alumni Association and Medical School Foundation. She also serves on the board of directors of the Charlottesville Scholarship Program. Iris holds a MBA from Regent University and a BS in Accounting from Ferris State University. A native of East Lansing, Michigan–go Spartans!–she now resides in Albemarle County and has been married to Andre Luck for 25 years. He sometimes works with Barb Wired as well! Whether planning or staffing national conferences, banquets, weddings, reunions, galas or parties, her keys to success are the same: prepare well, be professional and make the client happy! Wearing very comfortable shoes helps too!
I look forward to working with our clients in Central Virginia and beyond!”
Kimberle Badinelli, Event Director & Marketing
With more than 25 years of event planning experience, Kimberle has finally left the corporate world to do what she loves best – put on spectacular events with spectacular people. She has had experience directing or chairing all types and styles of events – from intimate dinners for 10 to managing a national conference for more than 3,000 people. Kimberle worked at Virginia Tech for more than 28 years managing hospitality-related areas – food service, event management, hotels and others. Her last role there included directing a large communications and marketing department serving over 60 business units and managing over 40 events a year including Parent’s Weekend, an event including 60 events in three days; 28 of which were managed by her and her staff. In addition, this event was part of teaching the Events Management Class in Virginia Tech’s Hospitality & Tourism Management Program – a program where, over many years, she has taught over 15 different classes.
Recently, Kimberle left the beautiful state of Virginia for a chance of a lifetime to join Stanford University as their Director of Marketing, Brand Strategy, Revenue Strategy and Business Assessment in Residential & Dining Enterprises. She spent over 3 years again serving over 60 strategic business units including the management of events and marketing strategy related to many restaurant openings and their events.
“I hated to leave Barb Wired on my quest for Stanford and California, but I am proud to say I left my favorite (and only) daughter, Carmen to take my place. We never looked back … well, until now! I look forward to working with her and all the team here again.”
Kimberle asserts that event planning and the management of everyone’s special day – no matter the purpose – is a role that takes great talent. As stated on Wedding Wire – when she went looking for an event company to work with, Barb Wired’s reputation outshone all others. “I’m proud to be part of this amazing team and … back home again in Virginia.”
Carmen Badinelli, Director
Carmen Badinelli joined the Barb Wired team in 2013 and has loved every minute of it. Nothing is more fun that helping to bring someone’s vision to life. Throughout the week, Carmen is a Process Engineer who works in Supply Chain. She is often asked how in the world an engineer ended up in event planning. The two are really quite similar. An event plan isn’t that far off from a project plan. The biggest difference is that there’s often better food, music, and décor at Barb’s events than engineering meetings.
“”I love giving people the opportunity to truly relax and enjoy their special day without having to worry about all the details.”
Victoria Collins, Director
Vicki Collins is a 2010 graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg and a native and resident of Winchester Virginia. She started with Barb Wired as an intern in 2009 as she was qualifying for 200 credit hours for her degree in Communication Studies at JMU. Since that time, she has held several positions at the Hilton Garden Inn/Aikens Group in Winchester, currently serving as their Assistant General Manager. Vicki is a hard working multi-tasker with detail the vanguard of every event.
“What a blessing it is be genuinely excited to go to work! How could we not love what we do? I love the wedding day itself when we get to see all the hard work come together and the happiness that radiates from our couples”
