That Dress!

Deidre & Eric

Deidre & Eric were married in Charlottesville in a traditional June ceremony at Belmont Baptist Church. Their love for each other was apparent to all, but the moment Eric saw Deidre walk down the aisle, he melted.

The buzz was all about THE DRESS! Deidre found her dream at Annalise Bridal in Richmond, VA. “Berkeley” by Anne Barge is an off-the-shoulder ruched silk satin chiffon bodice and voluminous ball gown. Deidre looked like a princess and some called her a “Southern Belle”. The dress was accented by another Anne Barge piece… the "Rose" belt. This design made for a lot of fun and creativity by the photography team of Dominique Attaway.

Her “something old” was her Mother’s veil and her “something borrowed” were special hairpins from her bridesmaid Alexandra who wore them at her wedding. These adorned her beautiful hairstyle by Moxie Hair Lounge. Some will ask “what about ‘something blue’?” (these were unmentionable).

Full celebrations took place at Glenmore Country Club with an immaculate meal topped off with a luscious cake made by the couple’s friend and pastry chef Morgan Phillips. Colorful florals filled the room thanks to Harris Teeter Florals.

To add to the memories, Big Ray & the Kool Kats kept everyone dancing for the rest of the evening. Deidre twirled like a little girl in her gown and even though she took up a little extra space on the dance floor, that did not stop the bride and groom from having the time of their lives! When we thought there were no more surprises, Eric blew everyone away when he joined the band and played guitar.

The evening ended with “The Last Dance”…a private time for just the bride and groom as their guests waited outside for a sparkler departure to an Albemarle Antique Limousine.

Congratulations Deidre & Eric and keep twirling!

Elsa & John

On a crisp November afternoon in the mountains just West of Charlottesville, a beautiful family joined. Elsa and John met as friends at first, but with much in common as busy business professionals. One of many things held in common was the love of their children and family - a central focus of their wedding.

John stood proud as their adorable children Abigail, Michael, Ben and Claire preceded Elsa who was escorted and given away by her son Jack. Jeff, a family friend, served as their officiant, making their experience even more personal and intimate.

The King Family Carriage House was classically decorated in midnight blue, ivory and vibrant autumn colors. Verde Natural Florals created exquisite décor alongside beautiful rentals from MS Events. Barbeque Exchange fashioned an immaculate Southern Fare meal complete with special treats to delight the kids.

The children were treated to a special table of treats, toys and games. As dinner concluded, Maid of Honor Lisa & Best Man Jeremy gave touching toasts to their newly married friends, followed by the bride Elsa and her Jack in the Mother/Son dance, and the groom John with his daughter Abigail in the Father/Daughter dance. T.D. Layman of Sound Enforcement kicked off the rest of the evening with all the right songs to keep everyone on the dance floor.

Sparkle

Bea_ThomasWedding2018 01030.jpg

Thomas fixes broken hearts for a living and Bea solemnly swears to tell the truth…a match made in heaven. A beautiful day at James Monroe Highland celebrated their marriage with loving family and friends. Bea and her bridesmaids started their wedding weekend earlier in the week with winery tours, apple picking and girl fun. An early wedding morning with Anne of Charlottesville Makeup Artist and everyone was at their beautiful best.

The exquisite floral design by M. Henry Design sparkled in the autumn sunlight, but not more than Bea as her Dad escorted her down the garden aisle to give her away to Thomas, who glowed as she approached. Gay Lee Einstein performed a touching ceremony, and after a recessional of “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” the celebration begins!

More sparkle as MS Events and C&O Catering, who served an impeccable menu, delightfully set the Highland Pavilion. Cakes by Rachel displayed a dessert table of special treats and a cutting cake for the bride and groom.

Another tender moment shared between Bea and her Dad Larry, the Father Daughter dance was “Unforgettable”. Then it was dance…dance…dance! Bea twirled and twirled in her gorgeous gown….more sparkle.

Taylor & Garrett

Garrett _ Taylor - Wedding 2018-00821.jpg

It’s not everyday you meet the perfect couple, so in tune and so in love. On a cool October afternoon, Taylor and Garrett stood hand in hand at The Haven Sanctuary in Charlottesville. Flanked by their friends, the bridesmaids looked amazing in pink, blush, and burgundy dresses, each different but perfectly complementary while the groomsmen sported handsome tuxedos.

Taylor’s dazzling smile lit up the room as she gazed up at the man she would soon marry. That smile was infectious as nobody could contain their joy when Taylor and Garrett sang along to How Great Thou Art. When these two look at each other, you know that they will live a long and happy life together. Special friends Samuel, Michael & Elly provided beautiful inspirational music for the ceremony.

Jeff Gleason made the day even more fun taking amazing photos, along with Stephen Stonestreet Videography. The reception was held at Keswick Vineyards and was indescribable with florals by M. Henry Design, and lighting and rentals provided by Skyline Tent Co. and MS Events.

Garrett’s kicked off the festivities with his toast to the “mom’s who put their blood, sweat, and tears in planning” (and don’t forget the Dad’s who put up with the moms).

Taylor’s Aunt Susan created the cake and cupcakes with all sorts of candy added to the display, bringing out the inner kid in everyone! After an amazing dinner by Le’Toile Catering and heartfelt speeches the guests spent the rest of the night dancing to the tunes of Sound Enforcement DJ T.D. Layman! An exciting sparkler exit wrapped up the night, making the perfect getaway for the bride and groom!
